We are very proud of our ex student Krishnam Kapoor.
His winning team has been awarded Rs. 1,00,000 Mr. Ajay Kumar Bhalla , Home Secretary of India.
#SmartIndiaHackathon is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flagship student competition under the #DigitalIndiaInitiative. It is India's largest government-sponsored competition to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.
Krishnam Kapoor’s team #NumeroUno solved the challenge presented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs which was judged by eminent IAS officers in the central government.
The problem statement involved : Developing a mechanism by which we can make smart cities resilient to natural or man-made disasters such as flash floods, fires, tsunamis, COVID spread, or heatwaves to minimize loss of life and economic damage. The solution which was called #DRAMS (abbreviation for #DisasterReliefandManagementSystem) was an end to end solution which would enable the administrators to track disasters in real-time, alert the citizens in the affected area dynamically and dispatch emergency services automatically in the most resource-efficient way by leveraging the existing CCTV network of smart cities. All in all, DRAMS is an #AI agent specially trained to handle critical situations to ease out the load on government administration during times of crisis.
The team was awarded with a #PrizeMoney of 1 lakh rupees by #MrAjayKumarBhalla (#HomeSecretaryofIndia).
A couple of screenshots of the User Interface for their #software is attached.
In the first picture, you can see how DRAMS automatically checks for social distance violations, and in the second picture, you can see how DRAMS is capable of detecting floods in real-time and correspondingly update the affected region in real-time.
“My #journey in this grey-bricked edifice dates back to 2008. I can vividly recall that how apprehensive I felt on getting enrolled in the first big school of my life. I was always an introvert and timid individual but gradually the firm conviction shown in me by our illustrious Principal Billu Sir went a long way in transforming me into a confident and outgoing character. The ever encouraging teachers and mentors imparted mean not only the academic skills but also the life lessons. My school, my #Principal and my #teachers (the faculty members) have been my constant companion in my #college life as well. Clearing UPSC examination would not have been possible if the foundation had not been strong. I thank everyone back at school from the core of my heart and for having taught me believing the fact that
“When the going gets tough,
the tough get going.”
